Halloween!!

Carving Pumpkins!
We finally got around to carving our pumpkin and it was a lot of fun. It's been a while since we've done this and it was a first time for both of the kids. They were pretty funny about the whole thing. Mya dug right in, but Linden was too crazy about the whole thing.
Linden started out interested in the whole process but as soon as I took the pumpkin lid off he wasn't too sure.
As you can see Mya is right in there but Linden backed right up. I guess he didn't like the pumpkin guts.

I love Halloween so I had to get right in all the mess.
Tris couldn't resist either (this will be the last picture with Tris in his Hilit clothes because he is officially done on October 31st),
All done. We kept things pretty simple.
Linden thought it was pretty cool now that all the guts were gone. Mya never had to be convinced, she loved the entire process.

My Little Artists!

Paintin' Time
Last year I let Linden paint a pumpkin instead of carve one because he could help more and he loved it. This year we did it again and Mya got to be a part of it. They each got their own little pumpkin and they made them so beautiful.
A clean canvas
Linden is so precise when he colors or paints. Mya was taking pointers.
After watching her big brother Mya really got into it.
So Beautiful!
Just about done.
The finished products.
So talented!

Cookies!!

All By Myself!
The other day I decided to let the kids help me make cookies. I had done it before but it was more like watch mom make cookies. This time I let Linden and Mya do everything. Yes, it did get a little messy, and I'm sure they snuck a few bites of cookie dough here and there. They had so much fun so it made the mess worth it.
They scooped the dough and I just helped them get it off their spoon.
Good job eh!
Mya couldn't wait for them to be ready (little chunker)!!
The anticipation was killing them. They turned out pretty yummy!

Balloons!!!

The Best Thing We Found!!
Well Tris, the kids and I went car shopping last Saturday and these balloons were the best things we found. Tris is changing jobs and will no longer have a company vehicle so we needed to find a car fast. We spent an entire Saturday looking and came home with balloons. The kids were thrilled, but us, not so much!
I think I'll get him one of these for Christmas.
So Sweet!!
Crazy Kids!

Enjoying the Weather!!

What it's Really Like Having an Older Brother!!
Well the kids have loved playing outside all summer and what's so crazy is that even in October they are still able to go outside in the sprinkler. This day was maybe not as fun for Mya as some of the others have been.
Not too sure what happened here (and yes, I do actually watch my children).
Pretty clear what's going on here.

Youch!! A little bit of a wedgie. That can't feel good!

Going Jogging!!

Gettin' in Shape
The other night right before bed Mya found her running shoes and some socks she had taken off earlier in the day. I think I've mentioned Mya's love for shoes before, but as soon as she found the shoes she wanted me to put them on her. She handed me the socks and shoes so I decided to just let her get a little exercise before bedtime. They all just looked so funny with her p.j.'s. Just Check it out for yourself!
Nice Socks!!
After all the workin' out she was parched!

Couldn't quite figure out the lid so she decided get some help. She is so funny!!

Doing the Dishes

My Little Helper!
Linden was being my little helper the other day with the dinner dishes. He loves playing in the water and I love letting him help (even if it really isn't so much help).
Wash, Wash, Wash!!
Stop Looking at my bum!!! I normally wouldn't put a picture of my bum on the blog but I thought Linden standing on the bowl on his tippy-toes was so cute. He got the bowl out of the cupboard and put it there all by himself. I did't even give him the idea.

The Mountains

Gettin' Away From It All
Our good friends the Hatches invited us to go up to the mountains with them on Tuesday so Tris took the day off (which he never does) and we headed out of the city. We stayed all morning, ate lunch and headed back home afterwards. We had so much fun and were glad we got the invite. We can't wait to do it again!

We hardly ever get family pictures for some reason so this was a good time to get one.

Tris doing what he loves, FISHING!!

Linden loved being outside but he wasn't exactly sturdy on his feet in the mountains. He fell over at least 10 times. We lost count.

Linden and one of his best friends, Hannah. Mya is in the background trying to keep up!

Mya's pants had snaps that just wouldn't stay closed so her pants were so funny all day. She got a lot of air up there.

Just pulling up a seat (check out those pants).

SNACK TIME!

They are always the happiest when their eating, especially when they get to eat DORITOS.

Mya got a little somthing in her hair.

Getting ready to cook up some lunch. They loved this fire pit and lucky for us it was in a brand new picnic area so it was nice and clean still.

Linden was workin' on making a little something himself while he was hangin' out in the fire pit.

The Ostrich Farm

The Ostrich Farm
Lots of people have been checking out the Ostrich Farm lately and told us it was great so we decided to go when Mom and Dad Rollins came down to Tucson for a visit.

We thought it was great but the Ostrichs' were a little scary. Dad almost got his finger bitten off.
Mom and Mya.

Then we went to feed the deer; they were much nicer. It took a while for the kids to warm up to them.

But once they did they couldn't get enough of them. They let the deer eat right out of their hands. They loved it!

Then there were the laurakeets (don't know if that's how to spell that). They loved Tris' hat.

And my hair!

Mya thought they were the coolest thing and followed them all around.

Linden, on the other hand, got a little pinch by one that landed on his shoulder and that pretty much ended the fun for him.

He preferred them much better like this.

Maybe some day we'll come back for the monster tour. All in all it was a great little family trip.
